Tubing Spider

Petrorio Drilling Tools manufactures Tubing Spiders in strict accordance with the latest API-7K Specification. Built from heat-treated alloy steel, these spiders deliver maximum strength and durability while maintaining minimal weight. The shafts are made of hardened alloy steel for extended life, and replaceable steel bushings are fitted into the journal bearings. All bearings and journals are equipped with grease fittings for proper lubrication.

Air cylinders and foot valves are mist-lubricated through the airstream, and each spider is equipped with a manually operated safety latch to securely lock the slips in place. The design ensures slips cannot be released from the tubing until lifted by the elevators, preventing accidental loss of the string. Slips, shafts, and air operating mechanisms are also guarded against potential damage from elevators or other external forces.

Our Pneumatic Spiders are available in five models: “C”, “CHD”, “E”, and “G”. These are designed for manual, compressed air, or hydraulic operation, except Model “G,” which is for compressed air or hydraulic operation only. All spiders can be used on a rotary table with an adapter plate, centering the Spider and allowing manual rotation. Models “C” and “CHD” also feature a Gate Section for passing parallel tubing strings or running an electric submersible pump cable alongside any size tubing string.
